River Center - Pacific Salmon the Alaska Story
They offer a colorful and informative magazine includes a description
of the life cycle of the five pacific salmon species and their habitat
requirements. It also contains interesting and not too well known
facts about salmon, such as the fact that salmon can swim as fast
as 14 miles per hour! There is also information about the health
of Alaska's salmon stocks, some history about salmon fishing in
Alaska as well as information about efforts to restore and protect
salmon habitat on the Kenai River and other salmon streams within
Alaska. The book is loaded with beautiful full color photographs

bear encounters. In each book Larry captures man's struggle for
survival in a bear's jaws. In Alaska this life or death situation
includes black, grizzly, brown-grizzly and polar bears. Larry Kaniut
chronicles bear-man encounters from false charge through fatality,
interviewing not only the victim of the bear's wrath, but also the
rescuer, spouse, family member and doctor. The "Webgirl's"
husband is mentioned in his book "Some
Bears Kill". The story is called "Eleven
Seconds From Disaster" and is actually a story about The
