Jon VanZyle
Art is his life in Alaska, and all of Alaska has been his inspiration. Artist Jon Van Zyle has seen more of Alaska in a much more unique way than most can ever hope to experience. Jon has twice completed the 1049 miles of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race between Anchorage and Nome. From these adventures he has created the yearly Iditarod posters series commemorating the race and his involvement every year. In 1979 he was made Iditarod artist, a title he still holds today.


Seward, Alaska Fire Department
The Seward Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1906 and is located in beautiful Seward, Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula. During the summer months, our population can grow up to 10,000 people with cruise ships arriving. In the winter, Seward turns back into it's small town atmosphere of about 2800 people.

This is not a site for tourists planning a trip to Talkeetna - unless you're looking for the underbelly of the place. This site tries to show another side of Talkeetna - the side that tour busses don't see. There are a lot of personal thoughts, photos, videos, MP3s of local musicians, a 24 hour/day online radio station, weblinks, and wanderings.

Koahnic Broadcast Corporation
This site is very informative and is continuing to grow as a source for up-to-date information about the first urban Native radio station in the nation KNBA 90.3 FM and the national programs Earthsongs, Native America Calling and National Native News.

Anchorage Chapter of MADD (Mother's Against Drunk Drivers)

In 1988, the carcass of a sperm whale washed ashore on East Chugach Island about 40 miles south of Homer, Alaska. In 1993, using the salvaged skeletal remains as an inspirational focus, The Pratt Museum initiated a five year, uniquely Alaskan marine science program in Homer High School.

Described as one of Anchorage's back yards, weekend traffic flows like a tide as recreational vehicles either stop inside the city or continue on south to Homer.
